Lagos State is a very big state in Nigeria. It is filled with over 25million people from different ethnic groups(hausa, igbo, yoruba).
The lockdown was relaxed on the 4th of may 2020 and people are not abiding by the rules laid down by President Buhari. The number of Coronavirus cases is increasing day by day and the death rate is also increasing.
Here are the reasons why Lagos might resume lockdown:
Using of Facemasks
It has been said by the President of Nigeria that wearing facemasks will become compulsory while disobedience to this instruction can be punishable by law. 80% of Nigerians are not using facemasks. it is worrisome because it very easy for them to contact the virus.
Always carry Hand sanitizer
It is vital in these times to always carry hand sanitizers wherever you go, even when driving in your car.
Social Distancing
The issue of social distancing is very important but Nigerians are really defying it. The rate of people at banks and also BRT bus terminal is worrisome. Most of them are not using facemasks. No evidence of social distancing in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Below are some Photos of Nigerians at the BRT Bus terminal and also at banks:
