Some parts of Kara Bridge, has been affected by an explosion, after an articulated truck laden with 33,000litres of PMS crashed into another Cement Transport truck at Kara Bridge, while driving inward the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Explosion sounds and wildfires were heard and seen from distance according to eyewitnesses accounts.
BBC Pidgin, speaking with the driver of the tanker, explained that while he was parked on the bridge waiting for curfew time to be over, another tanker with a failed brake rammed into his own waiting tanker that was how the explosion sounds and wildfires were heard.
Many residents within the area where startled when the explosion took place at about Saturday night, 20 June, 2020.
The explosion which occurred has forced motorists who have reasons to use the road to seek an alternative, for now, to allow the personnel of Fire Service on ground to extinguish the fire and also to scampered for safety.
The impact of the crash resulted to widespread of fire, three trucks were destroyed, and one person has been confirmed dead.
Men of the Federal and Lagos State Fire Service arrived the scene swiftly to douse the flames, a task which has continued for hours, thereby causing heavy traffic jam on both sides of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
