Second lockdown(July 2020):List of Businesses That May Be Closed on prospective Second lockdown

As part of roles played by the government at the inception of the Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria, the Federal government had few months ago, declared lockdown and enforced curfew on citizens in order to curtail the spread of the virus.

Although, the lockdown has been gradually eased, as the federal government sets up guidelines for citizens to take responsibility of their lives, while they set to ease the total lockdown gradually. However, President Buhari made this known during his broadcast on the democracy day, approving the ease on lockdown. Though President Buhari had earlier before then, vested powers on the state government to decide on when to lift lockdown in their various states. For example, ban on worship houses have been lifted by the federal government, but Lagos State insisted not to agree with the federal government, due to the unabated increase in covid-19 cases in their states.

In sync with this, some state governors has declared a second lockdown in their states, just like the governor of River State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, who has pronounced a total lockdown on Bonny Local Governments Area and Onne Community in Eleme Local Government Areas, which commenced from from June 21, 2020. He went further to threatening River State residents that there would be a statewide second lockdown, if the virus continues to increase unabated.

Moreover, Earlier before now, the Director General, of the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, (NCDC), Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, had warned citizens against the belief that, Covid-19 does not exist in Nigeria, pinpointing that there are more Covid-19 cases in the country than reported.

On the 23rd of June 2020, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 452 Covid-19 infections bringing the total number in the country to 21,371

Here is the breakdown of the number of 452 new cases of COVID-19 recorded as at 23rd June, 2020;

452 new cases of COVID19 in Nigeria; Lagos-209, Oyo-67 Delta-37 Ogun-36 FCT-22 Abia-20 Enugu-16 Bauchi-15 Kaduna-8 Ondo-8 Osun-7 Imo-3 Benue-3 Borno-1

Cross River remain the only state in Nigeria that is yet to record any case of Coronavirus since the first index case was recorded.

Meanwhile, the latest numbers bring Lagos state total confirmed cases to 9,073, followed by Abuja (1,605), Kano (1,190), Oyo (1,055), Rivers (930), Edo (797), Ogun (699), Kaduna (608), Delta (569), Bauchi (482), Gombe (479), Borno (477), Katsina (434), Jigawa (317), Ebonyi (264), Plateau (253), Abia (252). Imo (246), Kwara (200), Nasarawa (193), Bayelsa (177), Ondo (162), Enugu (160), Sokoto (138), Zamfara (76), Kebbi and Osun (67), Anambra and Niger (66), Akwa Ibom (65), Yobe (56), Benue (47), Adamawa (45), Ekiti (35), Taraba (18), while Kogi state has recorded 3 cases.

Considering the persistent increase in covid-19 as testified by the report of the NCDC above, there is a probability that the country may be going for a second lockdown, as the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on covid-19, Boss Mustapha has hinted on this in his daily press briefing on Monday in Abuja, stating that they would be monitoring developments nationwide in order to take informed decisions by the end of June, on the second phase of the lockdown and perhaps, designating from his statement, the second lockdown may begin from next month being July 2020.

However, there may be businesses that may be closed in the prospective second lockdown due to their nature, as most businesses, while in operation would have to involve a large number of people together and some will have to make people to be close to themselves and by so doing, the preventive measures provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) will be violated.

Following this reason, below are list of businesses that may be closed on the prospective second lockdown, which is under the probability of commencing from July 2020

Here are business that may closed on the prospective second lockdown

Commercial Motorcyclist

Beauty Salons

Barbing Shops

Banks

Bar Joints

Recreation and relaxation center

Cinemas

Seeing the above reports of the NCDC about covid-19 cases in the country, what do you think about the NCDC reports, since every other states have been recording cases of covid-19, but River State alone, who has been recording new covid-19 cases before, seems not to have any new records lately.

How to Rebuild Your Confidence After Failure by Kneelyo Akinbowale

How to Rebuild Your Confidence After Failure by Kneelyo Akinbowale  Failure has a way of shaking the very foundation of our confidence. One moment, you believe in yourself; the next, doubt creeps in, whispering that you are not good enough, not smart enough, or not destined to succeed. But here is the truth many people never tell you: failure does not destroy confidence—how you interpret failure does. If you have failed recently, this is not the end of your story. It is the beginning of a wiser, stronger chapter. Understand That Failure Is Not Your Identity One of the most dangerous mistakes people make after failing is allowing the failure to define who they are. You didn’t fail because you are a failure. You failed because you tried. Every successful person you admire today has failed in one way or another. The difference is that they refused to turn a moment into a permanent label. Separate what happened from who you are. Your worth is not measured by one outcome. Al...

Growth Is Painful, But Stagnation Is Worse by Kneelyo Akinbowale

Growth is not a comfortable journey. It stretches you, challenges your beliefs, exposes your weaknesses, and forces you to confront versions of yourself you would rather ignore. Many people avoid growth not because they don’t desire progress, but because they fear the pain that often comes with it. But here is the truth many don’t like to face: while growth is painful, stagnation is far more dangerous. The Pain That Comes With Growth Growth demands change, and change rarely feels good at first. It may require you to leave familiar environments, let go of relationships that no longer serve your purpose, or unlearn habits that once kept you comfortable but now keep you stuck. Pain in growth shows up as: • Fear of the unknown • Temporary failure and embarrassment • Discipline over comfort • Sacrificing immediate pleasure for long- term fulfillment. This pain, however, has a purpose. It is the pain of becoming—of building strength, wisdom, and character. Just like muscles grow...

Growth Mindset vs Fixed Mindset: The Battle That Shapes Your Future by Kneelyo Akinbowale.

In life, success is not controlled by talent alone, background, or even opportunity. More often than not, it is controlled by how we think. The mindset you adopt determines how you respond to challenges, failure, criticism, and growth. Two dominant mindsets shape human behavior: the Fixed Mindset and the Growth Mindset. Understanding the difference between these two can change the direction of your life. What Is a Fixed Mindset? A fixed mindset is the belief that intelligence, talent, and abilities are permanent traits. People with this mindset believe they are either “good at something” or “not good at it,” and nothing can change that. Characteristics of a Fixed Mindset: • Fear of failure • Avoiding challenges • Giving up easily • Feeling threatened by other people’s   success • Taking criticism personally • Believing talent alone leads to success Someone with a fixed mindset might say: •“This is just who I am.” •“I’m not smart enough for that.” •“I’ve tried befor...
