After years of neglect, the past administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun began the construction of the road linking many communities to Lagos via Ifo and Ado-Odo/Ota Local Governments.
However, the 32km road which is yet to be completed, has caused the people of the area untoward hardship, especially during the rainy season.
Speaking during the inspection of the road, Akinsanya said the government of Governor Dapo Abiodun is committed to addressing the hardship being faced by commutters on the road.
Akinsanya, who alleged that the project was left unattended to, months before the end of Amosun’s administration, said, the Abiodun administration is now engaging contractors to get back to site towards completing the road for use by the people.
According to him, the completion of the road will help in reviving economic activities in the area.
The commissioner appealed to road users to remain calm as the state government works out modalities on the continuation of road projects, saying “there remains an outstanding payment of about N2.83 billion on the road project, and N26 billion for it to be completed as designed.”
